Can Taking Losartan Be Safe For Dry Cough?

HALLO DR SIR , MY NAME IS MOHAMED WORKING AS A DRIVER ,IN DUBAI AGE 52 YEARS. MY PROBLEM IS DRY COUGH AND SLEEPING , I AM SITTING OR WATCHING T.V OR SEPARATE IN THE ROOM I GET SLEEPING WITH HIGH SOUND (KURATTAI) I HAVE BP. PAST 6 YEARS I TAKE LOSARTAN 50 TABS. CHOLESTRAL LITTLE HIGH. WEIGHT 102 KG. HIGHT 180 CM. PLEASE HELP ME.THANK YOU SIR

No,Losartan does not dry cough.

You might be having dry cough due to some other reasons like smoking,dust,any kind of allergens,infection,cold etc.My provisional diagnosis would be bronchitis,asthma.These symptoms might also accompany with difficulty breathing, chest pain, rapid heartbeat, or swollen legs or ankles if it is a heart disease.I would have liked you to go for an Xray chest (if your cough is for long time),pulmonary function test,ecg(to rule out any heart disease).

I would advise you to reach a doctor and go for thorough examinations to come to a confirm diagnosis.Till then avoid any kind of allergen and try to take rest.
