Can Taking Benadryl Pill And Lotion Treat Wasp Sting Or A Tetanus Shot Is Required?

I was bitten by 6 wasps earlier today. I called my physician and was told to get Benadryl pill and lotion and to watch if I develop red streaks where I was bitten. I read only to get a tetanus shot. My doctor said not at this time, should wait. Please advise. Thank you.

Hello,

There is no need for a Tetanus shot. You can use Benadryl or Cetirizine antihistamine. You can use Tetanus later.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
