Can Swine Flu Trigger Heart Failure And Pulmonary Edema?

Is it possible that the swine flue trigered accute heart failure Had swine flue August 2009 cardiomyopathy acute heart failure pulmonary odaema feb 2010 have probably had a problem for 20yrs misdiagnosed as asthma. Is it possible the swine flue trigered this Ive been on medication for a year and my pump function has now returned to normal

Hi thanks for asking question in HCM.
Swine flu can trigger the chronic condition like that of heart disease as in your case.
It can also lead to pneumonia like respiratory problem so pulmonary edema also can be aggravated.
Sometime lead to respiratory failure also.
So it is better to recover fast whenever flu like condition with proper life style management.For that taking enough rest,drink plenty of water.fruit juice helpful.
So both the condition you mentioned can be aggravated by swine flu.
