Can Swallowing Excessive Meth Be Life-threatening?

I had weight loss surgery and I ve been swallowing an insane amount of meth. I m constantly sick to my stomach and I m worried I might have holes in my stomach and that my body is shutting down. When I close my eyes In the shower I lose my balance. Is this going to kill me? Have I permanently damaged my body? I tried alternating swallowing it with shooting it but it makes me just as sick...

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Unfortunately the long term consequences of using meth are not good and can not lead to permanent organ damage. This damage can occur whether you shoot it or swallow it. It can be hard to stop an addiction on your own, you may need to seek help from family, friends or a professional.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
