Can Sulfa Medicine Cause Yeast Infection?

I am a man who took sulfa drug for a prostrate problem, then had hernia surgery almost 2 weeks ago. I now have a red rash on my groin area and red dots on my penis. Could this be a yeast infection from the sulfa? I stopped the sulfa almost 2 weeks ago?

hi,
these don't seem like yeast infection. sulfa drugs can produce allergic reaction in the skin and may give rise to pink to red rashes that may distribute anywhere in the body. They may even strat after the drug is stopped (delayed drug eruptions).
the second possibility is a fungal infection unrelated to sulfa drug you took.
A dermatologist consultation will help; do not worry, as they will be cured.
All the best.
