Can Stress And Diabetes Cause Hair Loss?

I am experiencing significant hair loss. I am wondering if that can be a side effect of some medicines. I realize it can be caused from stress which I endure constantly, but wondering about meds. I have been losing quite a lot over he past six weeks and at this rate I ll be bald in a month..scary!I was hospitalized in October for COPD exacerbation at which time it was discovered that I had had a heart attack. Had a stent placed and am on Brilinta and other meds as well. I have diabetes too. Will a certain vitamin help. I have to stop the hair fall..getting depressing!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if stress and diabetes cause hair loss . well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like genetic factor , fungal infection and hormonal changes. In your case it seems to me that the stress and doabetes are both responsible for hair fall. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may order skin patch test , blood test and physical examination. Doctor may also prescribe supplements like Vitamin A ,Omega-3 , finpecia , minoxidil spray and Vitamin E . Doctor may also recommend hair transplant with HUE technique. Take Indian goose berry powder ( half spoon ) with water once a day and use olive for massage .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
