Can Strep Throat Cause Swollen Lymph Nodes On Neck In Children?

I have a 4 year old that has 2 swollen lymph nodes on the right side of her neck they been on there for about 3 weeks. They checked her for mono and strep 2 weeks ago. Negative for mono but positive for strep. Took a round of antibiotics and been off the meds little over a week. The 2 knots are still there and has not went down any in size. The docter did another round of tests everything came back negative.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. It would take time for lymphnodes to reduce.
2. If there is no fever, and she is well, not to worry.
3. Any infection in throat will cause swollen lymphnodes. Once increased in size, it will slowly reduce.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, here to help again.
