Can Squamous Cell Carcinoma In The Region Of Temple Recur Despite Treatment?

I have a tingling-irratation type feeling up around my right eyebrow that comes and goes. I had some squamas cell carcinoma removed from my right temple about a year or so ago. Is it possible that there is nerve damage caused from the surgery or could it be the cancer has returned? Thank you

Chances of recurrence for any cancer depends upon namely two factors -- type of cancer and treatment received.

In order to answer your question, I would like to know the details:-

1. Age
2. Treatment received - surgery alone/ surgery + radiation/ surgery + radiation + chemotherapy
3. Histopath report of surgery - to look for adverse features notorious for recurrence such as margin positive, high grade, etc
4. Whether nodes involved

Based on these clues, we can have an intelligent guess regarding the chances of recurrence.

You are right, this tingling could be a treatment-related change, however kindly inform your treating oncologist, so that he or she can evaluate in detail and come to a conclusion.
