Can Sonography Be Repeated In A Week During Pregnancy?

hi doctor, my wife is pregnant for seven and half month. and she went for check up and doctor told to do sonography. and after sonography report, he told my wife that childs brain is not developed properly. also placenta has came down. actually we had done sonography one month back with another doctor, & that doctor told everything is normal. placenta which was bit down is coming up. my wife is totally disturbed. my wife want to do sonography again in another lab. is it safe to do sonography within a week? i am also confused with the doctors statement that brain is not developed properly, which was normal one month back.

hi,you must get a repeat sonography done.sonography is absolutely safe and there is no radiation exposure to the fetus.it can be variation amongst two observers.if you have got a level 2 or anomaly scan at the 5 th month they must have visualied the fetal brain properly.but in your case since there is an itraobserver variation it is better to get a repeat scan.and secondly for low lying placenta she just needs to take rest and no coitus and no lifting weight.she can start tab duphaston 10 mg twice a day till 37 weeks.dont worry.all the best and take care.
