Can Solid Food Be Given To A Four Month Old Infant?

My baby is 4 1/2 months old. I have been breastfeeding feeding till now. I am a working women and I have to go to office in another 6 weeks. Whether I can start giving solids like home made rice cereal and Raagi malt now? Also I would like to give her formula feeding during day time as I won t be available at home. Whether I can give dexolac for her? Can I continue breastfeeding during morning and night?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I suggest you breastfeed your child until he gets six months old. Then you can continue giving other food but not the solid one. You can give fruits and vegetables blended.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
