Can Small Blood Clot Be The Symptom Of Miscarriage?

Hi, I am around 5 weeks pregnant. This Morning I noticed a small clot when I wiped and now I am experiencing light bleeding when wiping. I had bloods today and HCG is normal and ultrasound today showed a sac and an egg yolk still. Am I having a miscarriage?

Hello dear
Understand your concern
Small clots and light bleeding around 5 week of pregnancy is not normal.
Following are the causes:
Miscarriage, breakthrough bleeding, placental bleeding, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, vaginal infections, after sexual intercourse during pregnancy.
As you already did USG and its showing sac and yolk sac so it may be break through bleeding or vaginal infections.
Breakthrough bleeding will disappear in 3-4 days. Vaginal infections should be diagnosed by swab test and need to be treated by antibiotics.
Close follow up require by USG to confirm about miscarriage.
Take rest, avoid exertion, folic acid tablet and healthy diet.
Hope this may help you
Best regards
