I have recently had sinus surgery and had a bad staph infection along with a fungal problem in the sinus itself. After surgery I was diagnosed with achromobacter infection in the sinus. The doctor treating me said that Sulfa would take care of this infection but as I am allergic to Sulfa I am to have IV infusion therapy. What is this type of infection and is it serious? I was also told that if I did not take care of it ASAP that I might get a brain abscess. Is this true?

Hello, My name is Jesse... I need a few tips and advice.. I have read on a few things that state a ear infection of left untreated can turn into a brain abscess.. I match all the symptoms and the ER doctor prescribed me Antibiotics.. Amoxicillin to be exact... I don t think this is even funny anymore because my hearings cutting in and out.. I m dizzy.. My throat hurts... My nasal passages hurt... My breathing is laboured... And they seem sold on this idea of just an ear infection.. When it feels like I m literally going to die... : / An answer would be great... Lots of people don t believe me.. I don t want to end up in a coma... -Jesse

hi I have several questions regarding a parasitic infection I was just diagnosed with. Entamoeba was found in my stool sample a few days ago, and the doctor asked me immediately to take a liver ultrasound to make sure I dont have a liver abscess. What are my chances of having one, and is it lethal. Some symptoms I have include weight loss (which occured almost a year ago), minor indigestion problems, fatigue and slight depression. Also, should I be worried about a brain abscess?

Dear Dr, I am 30 years Male. I had productive cough in morning for last 2 months and I was suffering from sinusitis also. The sputum was green. Now the cough is gone and only sinusitis remains, no that much sputum. I done a chest x-ray last week which came normal. However doctor told a elevation in Diaphragm and enlagement of heart. What will be the reason of this?. Active Pulmonoray TB not there, but will it be Miliary TB symptom or Amoebic Liver Abscess or anything else?? Please advice me for the next step

About a month ago I heard a loud noise in my right ear and got dizzy. Then two weeks later I had upper respiratory and my right ear looked irritated. I was prescribed z pack. Then two weeks after that I felt I couldnt swallow, my skin on my neck was stretching, pressure in my face, and dizzy. I went back to the doctor and he said both ears were irritated and I probably had sinus infection, even though I had no mucus. He prescribed amoxicillin and advil congestion relief. The pressure in my head at times was uncomfortable to a point where I had to look in the mirror and make sure my face was not disformed. I went back a few days, even though the other symptoms went away and he ordered an MRI. All came back normal except for a maxillary mucus retention cyst in my right sinus. The doctor said it was very small and should not be causing all this. Last night I went to the er because, the pressure in my nose for the past two days makes me feel as if I am not able to breathe. My right ear and head are numb when I feel the pressure in my right nostril. No matter what I take no mucus or flem is coming out and I get panicky when I feel the pressure and numbness. I have to say the pressure is not as intense these past few days as it was last week but still uncomfortable and scary. The ER doctor just ordered claritin but when I called my doctor that said it would dry me up more and he gave me sudafed which I am now taking. also was on lexapro (2,5mg) for a few years and took a year or so to wean off it correctly. I have been off of it for over two months. Could this be related? I have an appointment with an ENT this week.
