Can Severe Anemia Be A Symptom Of Leukemia?

hello, my 2 year old soon has had annemea for the last 9 months and has been prescribed sytron for 4 months at a time 3 times now but his blood tests always come back that he is severly aneamic,im worried that he may actually have lukemea.how likely is this?

Yes you are right that leukemia can cause anemia by affecting blood production in your bone marrow but in leukemia white blood cells are also increased usually.

I hope that your consulting doctor can not miss this. Some time patient is resistant for iron so it should be also comes in mind.
You should discuss it with your doctor.

I advise you to repeat complete blood count with peripheral blood film.
This will clear all doubts about anemia and leukemia.It will also helpful for further plan of management.
