Can Seizure Be A Result Of Tobacco Chewing?

My 19 yr old son has chewed tobacco for a few years, sad to say! He has been cutting back due to a girl he really likes and hates that the fact he chews. So he has slowed down and almost stopped. Yesterday at work he had a first time seizure and is now going to see a neurologist . Would this cause a seizure ?

Stopping of tobacco suddenly can cause a seizure in .01% of tobacco chewers, with a condition where, the amount that was consumed was more than 10 grams and stopped suddenly. Also to conciser a fact that may be he was taking a brand which was mixed with some other stimulating addictive chemicals.
So i feel the convulsion is the withdrawl of the second addec chemical/chemicals in tobacco.
he must however have to take anti convulsants for 6 months.
