Can Regular Exercises Disintegrate A Clot In The Carotid Artery?

I had a major stroke in 2012. I lost mobility in my right side, had aphasia, memories loss, etc., ( but have recovered amazingly well, if I do say so myself!) My right carotid artery is still plugged. I know I don’t exercise enough. Can exercise cause the clot to break up? I think it’s on ethical that you don’t ask for money until after you have my email address

Hello,

There are two types of questions on Healthcare Magic. Many of them are free and now your current question is on the free platform. If you want a more detailed answer with the option to ask follow up questions then you can choose a paid question.

Exercise does not break up a clot but exercise can raise your HDL cholesterol and that can help clear up cholesterol plaques in the arteries.

If you have already had a stroke then you need to talk to your doctor about a reasonable exercise plan and treatment for your blood vessel disease that has blocked your carotid.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kathy Robinson
