Can Red Foreskin Be A Symptom Of Yeast Infection?

Hi my boyfriend and I have been having unprotected sex; however, when we first had unprotected sex nothing happened. Until the second time, his skin under his foreskin is red. It doesn't irritate him, no urination pain, or itching. BUT suddenly today, the skin under his foreskin is peeling a little? Would this possibly be a yeast infection? He has been using an ointment called cortisone +.

Urologist 's  Response
Hi
From your description it is likely an infection of the foreskin and both bacterial infection or a fungal infection are a possibility.
Cortisone is a steroid cream and should not be used in cases of infection or it can make it worse.
I would advice an antibiotic called co-amoxiclav unless you are allergic to penicillin. I would also advice an antifungal tablet called fluconazole single oral dose. Please contact your doctor for prescription of both at proper doses.
