Can rectal bleeding be a symptom of an internal hemorrhoid?

One time rectal bleed, including small clot. No pain, bleed stopped with no recurrence. Hysterectomy 20-30 years ago. No problem moving bowels. Diabetic andobese. Could this be internal hemorrhoid that bled? Thank you.

Bleeding from the anus as you mentioned is due to hemorrhoid or fissure or growth can be confirmed by proctoscopy as intial work-up.

Hello. My son is 13, and has rectal bleeding about once every 5 or so days for the last month. I am trying to get a referral to a doctor who can examine this issue. His pediatrician gave me the referral, but I am not sure what kind of doctor. Would it be a gastroenterologist? He doesn t have any obvious signs of hemorrhoids, but it could be internal. Please advise...

I have an IUD, and during my last two cycles I had bleeding from my rectum during my cycle, it looked exactly like period blood but I am very certain it did not come from my vagina. I ve also have chronic pain and a new injury which has lead to an increase of pain meds, which leads to more acid reflux and constipation. I suspect the current issue is hemorrhoids. Should I see a doc about the issue or treat symptoms at home and monitor things?

I am asking a question regarding my husband. He has been a heavy drinker for 30 years, he is 48. For one thing he has been having rectal bleeding for years. Last year he lost a litre of blood and needed a transfusion. We went to the hospital as he was bleeding for 3 weeks a huge amount he didn t tell me until it was for many days. I talked him into going to the hospital. He told them his symptoms, they ordered bloodwork in the emergency dept. Just after they drew blood he fainted and his heartrate dropped down to 28 they gave him something to bring up his heart rate. He spent 3 days in the cardiac unit. He had his hemorrhoids banded then and again 2 months later. And now it looks like he needs to have them done again, as he is bleeding a large amount. He has a pattern with his bleeding he bleeds for about 2 weeks or longer then stops for 2 weeks. It always stops and starts back up? I worry he has cirrhosis of the liver, he is jaundice around his eyes, he is terribly irritable. And always has a hard time concentrating and snaps. What I am wondering is if this bleeding has anything to do with cirrhosis of the liver? Is it possible he could have this and that is why he has this bleeding? I have talked to him about his drinking and its no use, he refuses to listen. Could you give me an opinion on this. Thank you.
