Can Pregnancy Still Happen After Using Withdrawl Method And Does Synthroid Have Any Effect On Periods?

My wife is 47 and has not had her period yet, we has sex only once during the month and I used the withdrawl method ( which I have been using for a long time) and clearly saw my ejaculate upon removal. Do you think she can be pregnant from this ? Also she take synthroid and has not taken it in about two weeks, can this have any affect ? Lastly her period does fluxuate, one month it was the 2nd of the month then she got it two week earlier. Her last period was on Christmas day, I assume the most fertile time would be 14 days from this or Jan 8th ? We had sex on the 12th ? I know the best way is to take a test but just want some professional expertise ?

At her age, she may have entered the peri-menopause and this is the reason why the cycles fluctuate. You can see all sorts of irregularities ranging from frequent cycles, delayed periods, inter-menstrual spotting and heavy periods. Moreover, if she has failed to take thyroxine in spite of being hypothyroid, this can also cause period disturbances. Finally, fertile period is calculated backward from the first day of the next period. When a released ovum is not fertilized, it results in a period after two weeks. If she was ovulating at the time of intercourse, she still carries a risk of conception as the pre-ejaculate is sufficient to cause conception. Hope this helps.
