Can Pregnancy Resulting From A Failed Postinor Lead To Ectopic Pregnancy?

Hi i have a few burning questions 1) I was on duromine for 3 weeks and then stopped for about a month before i conceived. Now am at week 4-5 of pregnancy. Is there any harm to myself and fetus? in terms of congenital deformities or abnormalities? 2) My spouse is also on it but he is still on treatment (meaning hasnt stopped). What are the chances? 3) Current pregnancy is from a failed postinor. What are the chances of ectopic pregnancy / fetal abnormality and danger? TIA

Hello dear
I understand your concern
There is no scientific study to long term side effects of duromine, but you did the right thing of stopping this drug once diagnosed pregnant.
It is a Pregnancy Category B3 drug which have been taken by only a limited number of pregnant women and women of child-bearing age, without an increase in the frequency of malformation or other direct or indirect harmful effects on the human foetus having been observed.

Fetal malformation by using duromine in mad does not cause fetal malformation.

Postinor 2 also contain same hormone that is present in the body.
There is no study reported in which postinor 2 affect the fetus growth.
But pregnancy should be evaluated by gynecologist by USG scan.
So undergo USG evaluation for safer side
Avoid stress, eat healthy diet, maintain proper pelvic hygiene and maintain proper pelvic hygiene
Hope this may help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
