I have a red rash that has been there for two weeks on my upper thigh. the itching has now moved to my eye lid, brow and behind my ear lobs. I though it was poison ivy but there are no raised, watery bumps, just red blotches. what can I buy to relive the itching

Hello,

I can understand your concern. The itching due to poison ivy can be relieved by applying calamine lotion to the itching areas.

In addition, you can take Dexchlorpheniramine 6 mg (Diominic SR) twice a day for 5-7 days. You can bathe with hot water or baking soda added to the water. Also, using astringent such as Burrow's solution can give you relief in the symtpoms.

However, if the symptoms are not relieved in 5-7 days, a dermatologist should be consulted for the clinical examination of the rashes and further investigations that can lead to diagnosis and treatment.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
