Can Phimosis Be Treated Non Surgically?

Hello I have to boys, one is 2 1/2 and the other is 9 months old, i visited the GP s office the other day and was told that they both have phimosis and i needed to get them circumsized as soon as possible. My oldest son had heart surgery a year ago. Is there any other way to fix phimosis without surgery.

Hi,
Any pain/swelling there? What about urine stream: good or broken? Phimosis can be taken as normal in young children, and till 3 years, usually surgery is not needed unless there is broken stream, ballooning of foreskin during urination or evidence of back pressure on ultrasound.

In true phimosis (very tight foreskin), steroid creams applied 2-3 times daily for 1 month might improve the condition. Kindly discuss with your pediatrician, as this is a prescription drug.
