Can Pancreas Be Viewed On A Gallbladder Ultrasound Report?

I recently had a gall bladder ultrasound. From that they found a mass on my liver which turned out to be a hemangioma. However, I was wondering if on that ultrasound they would be able to view the pancreas? Being older (70) you always wonder about problems that may not show up until it s too late. Thank you.

Radiologist 's  Response
Hi,

Visualization of the pancreas is attempted when doing an ultrasound for the gall bladder. Due to gas in abdomen and increased fat in tissues we sometimes find the pancreas obscured during an ultrasound scan. In most cases, the head and neck of the pancreas are clearly visualized on ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vivek Chail, Radiologist
