Can Pain Medicines Elevate LDL Levels?

I am 56 yr. old female with quadriplegia cerebral palsy, still walking with crutches and aqua jogging 4 hours a week. My hdl is 64, ldl 312 and triglycerides 120. Eat veggies and lean meats, nuts. Do not smoke. Have high cholesterol all of my life. Could the pain meds I am on elevate ldl?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
From the report you have furnished regarding lipid profile, it appears that you are having 'familial hypercholesterolemia'. It is a genetic disorder characterized by high cholesterol levels, specifically very high levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL). It is not triggered or precipitated by medications taken for pain.
You need to keep cholesterol levels under check by taking drugs like statins. Kindly consult Physician for proper evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
