Can pain during urination be due to UTI and can UTI last for 6-7 years ?

Hi there, I am a 20 year old male. Virgin. Several weeks after I turned 13 I started noticing an intense pain during urination. I told my Dad, but he shamed me and told me that it is because I masturbate, and if I wanted the pain to stop: I must stop masturbating. In fact I have gone several months without masturbating, and the pain is still there. As the years went by, the pain became more and more intense until last year, when I started noticing little dabs of blood coming out after I urinate. And this year, the pain lasts a little while after I finish urinating. It seems like the pain is coming from the mid lower shaft of the urethra , somtimes it feels like it is coming directly from the base of the urethra. It s hard to tell. I live on my own now and don t have healthcare . Is there anything I can do to make the pain stop? Could it possibly be a urinary tract infection? Could a urniary tract infection last for 6-7 years? Thank You.

Hi,
you have got some damage and infection in your penile urethra as you got a drop of blood after you urinate.
Go for routine urine check up and take one course of urinary antibiotic.take plenty of water.
If still problem persists then you may require ultra sound of bladder and urethra.

Hi Doc, I am 25 year old male and I contracted UTI about a week ago. My doctor prescribed me with Amoxicilin antibiotics (5-day course) and Ural to cleanse my urinary tract. I suspect that the infection had occurred along my urethra as I only felt pain when passing urine, had yellow discharge from my penis and no fever at all, and the urine test showed that there was an unusually high amount of white blood cells in my urine so it was an infection although it was not determined what bacteria was causing it (I had a full blown UTI years ago caused by E.Coli and at that time, I had high fever, chills and night terrors, so this time around it wasn t as bad as the previous one). As soon as I took the antibiotics, the symptoms begin to disappear and I thought that was the end of it. For a week, everything was fine and no symptoms manifested at all. However, today I felt a strong sensation to urinate in the morning (which woke me up from my sleep) and i felt a numb pain in my groin after urinating plus there was a small trace of blood in the urine. I went back to sleep and later in the morning, the sensation is still there but much lesser and there are some yellow discharge coming out of my penis. Strangely I don t feel any pain during urination at all, my urine is clear as it should be and no unusual smell was detected, although there is some tingling sensation in my groin which is rather irritating. I am worried that the infection is recurring and is it unusual to get the symptoms again after a week of meds? Or is it just residual effects of the infection and its a sign that its healing slowly? Note that I did not contract the UTI from a sexual intercourse and its most probably due to diarrhea that i got 3 weeks ago. Should I go see the same doctor or look a for a second opinion? Please help, thanks.

I am a 53 y.o post menopausal female. The opening to my urethra is a couple of centimeters wide which is quite alarming as I don t ever remember this being this way. I also see an area of red tissue about the size of an almond. This appears fixed to the urethral wall. No pain. No problems with urinating. I have a doctor s appointment on Monday, but I am not sure I can wait that long.

very warm regards doctor, i feel a kind of ticklish irritation just at the junction of bladder opening and urethra and iam never able to empty my bladder completely.every time after micturition i have to wait for another minute to empty the bladder by urinating certain drops of urine atlast.these last drops too dont get out of the bladder completely.just when iam about to finish the urination i feel that urethra closes before iam totally able to empty my bladder and applying pressure too...doesnt work.it has been my condition from September 2005.and till now the conditions have improved though but the problem still persists.i have warts like swelled Fordyce s spots on my scrotum for many years.iam 22 years.i got my urine tested in 2007 from a best urologist in India(from AIIMS).he was straight forward and said i had no infection and no stones after he read the results of the urine test.still i said i feel pressure in bladder he gave me Uromax capsules and antibiotics for 14 days after which the problem is still exactly the same.my father was reluctant like hell to take me to a doctor and now after he took me once he s not going to take me again. should i go again myself and is it baldder cancer or will it develop into cancer??please answer as immidiately as possible

Hi there, I am a 27 yr old male, (5ft 8in and 11 stone, smoker but not a drinker, no pevious problems in this area) and haven't been sexually active for about a year. I have recently noticed a small, hard lump inside the glans of my penis, just to the right of my urethra. It doesn't hurt unless I squeeze it a bit, but it does get larger or smaller depending on arousal, and remains solid for a couple of hours after ejaculation. It is about the size of a ballbearing when I have an erection and shrinks to about half size when my penis is flaccid. Any ideas as to what it could be? Thanks
