Can Oral Hsv Erupt In Single Blister?

Hello doc. Can oral hsv erupt in single blister? Because last week i got this burning sensation around my mouth then after two days i noticed this blister on my chin one on my mustache area. It was clear at first then it became pus-filled. I havent done any bloodwork.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain HSV most commonly occurs in clusters of sores or blisters but a single sore or blister can also be seen in a few cases..

But in your case as the blister is filled with pus it can be due to bacterial infection or can also be due to folliculitis that is hair follicle infection..

Nothing to worry, you can apply Triple Antibiotic Ointment over the pus filled bump and if there is pus discharge you can put pressure and try to drain out pus and clean it with betadine solution and apply Triple Antibiotic Ointment for reducing infection.

In case if still it does not resolve get tested for HSV and tests like antigen-antibody reaction, viral culture etc can be done to make a confirmatory diagnosis..
