Can Optic Nerve Inflammation And Concussion Caused Vision Loss Be Reversed?

Last week I was hit in the forhead, and two days later I started to lose my vision in one eye (I was hit above that same eye -- the right one). At first it was as if there was a shadow, and then got progressively worse. I went to the ER, CAT scan was normal, and MRI showed that there was a inflamation of the Optic Nerve and a mild concussion. I lost complete vision on Thursday, and its sunday now... how long before my vision should return??

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having optic nerve inflammation caused by concussion injury. This is called as traumatic optic neuropathy.
If the inflammation is caused by inflammation the treatment is by high dose steroids.
If the treatment is started early the vision will show partial or complete improvement by 5-7 days.

Thank you
