Can Opposite Blood Groups Cause A Miscarriage?

hi my self mahesh
my blood group is B+ and my wife blood group is B- . My wife was 2 n half month pregnancy. Suddenly pain start in my wife abdomen and we went to doctor and doctor said us pregnancy is damaged and need to abortion
they told us the reason is our blood group is responsible for this miscarriage
now I want to it may be a correct reason for this incident

this is a case of rh negative pregnancy. if this would have been your first pregnancy then it wouldnt have been this outcome(missed abortion) as no sensitization would have occurred to Rh antibodies. again if you already have a rh +ve child and you had not taken anti-d prophylaxis then chances that this conception got affected (erythroblastosis fetalis) is high. so this is a possibility. if in the present pregnancy , heart beat is lost , then its better to undergo abortion by medical or surgical method and before contemplating pregnancy next time( after 3-5 months), get her anti-d titre done, which shall give an idea about the antibodies already present in her body.
