Can Muscle Pain And High BP Be Related To Being Overweight?

i am age 72 with 6 years of type 2 diabetes controlled with glyclizide and metformin slow release i am overweight but i try to walk at least 3 miles per day all i can manage. all my muscles seem to ache i am controlling cholestral with statins, these were changed as i experienced muscle pain with statins and now take different statins i have high blood pressure controlled with medication as this too is now ok, but over the last few weeks i am once again experiencing muscle pain everywhere

Muscle pain can occur with all the statins. You got muscle pain with one type, but you are having the same reaction to another type, so it is likely that you will have to use an entirely different class of medicine to control the cholesterol. Talk to your doctor about getting off the statins. People who experience this side effect can sometimes develop pretty severe muscle inflammation. High BP is often related to being overweight. You do put more strain on your muscles if you are overweight, but in your case I think it is the statins causing the muscle pain. Hope this helps.
