Hello,
Skin of the hands, neck, shoulders are prone to get darker either due to exposure to the sun,
hormonal problems or other skin issues.
You are suggested to avoid exposure in the sun, get hands, neck, back & shoulders get cleaned & treated in a body
massage parlor since these are areas where you may not be able to reach properly by yourself.
Get clinically examined by a
dermatologist. Get blood tests for hormone, blood sugar. etc done. You may require to go for skin scraping or biopsy to rule out fungal cells or any other issue.
You will be treated for
hyperpigmentation (topical tritinoin), oral anti fungal medications if required, skin lightening creams &
laser therapy is also effective.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
