Gopalji,

You seem to have visited an ENT specialist who has found out that your ear drum has a hole. If that is so, then you need to be treated. The most common cause is Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM). A very small hole can be treated with conventional methods, but usually a medium to large hole has to be treated by surgery. Also, you need to get thoroughly checked if is a safe or unsafe condition. you may have undergo a thorough clinical examination, few tests have to be conducted and then be advised of the appropriate treatment.

ENT Specialist Dr. S K Pratinidhi's  Response
Hi , welcome to Health care magic forum, hard of hearing in one ear may be due to many reasons like ear drum perforation following an ear infection , may be due to hearing nerve weakness called as SN hearing loss etc. So you must consult an ENT surgeon and should undergo a pure tone audiometry and ear otoscopy to get a clear idea about the degree of loss and condition of the ear drum. Then only a proper treatment can be planned for you.
