Can Medical Abortion Be Done For An Unwanted Pregnancy?
Hi Doctor, I am Arpita. Age 26. Weight 65. I am being diagonosed by PCOS. I am taking crisanta Ls pills. But unfortunately I have forgotten to take pills at the right time after intercourse. So, I am pregnant now for 1 and half month. But I dont want to conceive right now. So can I go for abortion by medicine ? and if I do so then can I have chance to be pregnant later ? and one more question is that ... my hubby dont use condom since I take crisanta LS. So is it ok ? Or my hubby need to use condom along with my crisanta Ls.

Understand your concern
Yes you can use medical abortion treatment of intrauterine early pregnancy (up to 63 days of gestational age). But it should be used after consulting the gynecologist under the expert opinion and medical supervision.Pelvic examination, Hb, CBC, pelvic examination and USG should be done before using treatment. In this procedure mifeprstone should be followed by misoprotol after 48 hours. Dose and schedule should be followed according to gynecologist. Follow up USG for completeness of USG should be done at 14th day.
Abortion treatment does not affect the future pregnancyif it is done properly under the guidance. But repeated use can affect the future pregnancy.
If you are using crisanta LS regularly, chance of failure only 0.5-1%. So no need to use condom along with pill. But if you missed tablet 2 times, your partner should have to use condoms.
