Dear Sandeep Patil, Welcome to HCM, Yes your blood sugars can increase during a phase of fever due to any infection. It is more likely when you have been in prediabetes stage If i was treating you i would do 1) glucose tolerance test - To decide if there is diabetes or any chance of you developing it in future. 2)HbA1c - To Know your past 3 months control of sugars. Once the reports are there and if by chance you are in prediabetes stage its managed by weight loss, regular exercise and planned diet (not Diabetic diet). I am sure that in this way we can postpone the occurrence of diabetes for few more years. So buck up, dont panic and get the tests done. Start walking! Dr.Riyaz Sheriff
