Hi, thanks for posting your concern in the HCM.
Yes, diverticular disease can produce back pain. As per the information provided you had blood in urinalysis too. I think further evaluation is needed for the same. Although your blood infection came out to be normal, blood in urine may also be due to glomerulonephritis, stone in kidney or ureter, any other bladder pathology including CA. All these can cause back pain. If your CT scan was for abdomen, I think these possibilities have been ruled out except for glomerulonephritis. For this the urinalysis report and sediment analysis is very imp[ortant. You may need to consult a nephrologist to rule out the same. You may also need to have the following tests done-CBC, ESR, Complement levels, BUN, creatinine.
Your Xray may rule out any bony abnormality. But, you need to have an MRI of LS spine to be confirmed that there is no spinal abnormality.
You should also have a routine stool examination done. In case of exacerbation of the diverticular disease, a clear liquid diet for 2-3 days alongwith a broad spectrum antibiotic, e.g. ciprofloxacin may help. For long term dietary management, you should be on high fibre low fat diet.
You should also consult your local gastroenterologist for further evaluation.
