Can Left Ventricle Hypertrophy Be Reversed?

I have a Left Ventricle Hypertrophy (LVH) with measurement of 187 gm/m2 and RWT of .50. In addition, I have a moderate Mitral Regurgitation as well based on my 2D Echo. What would be my next step on this? Can the LVH and MVP be reversed? I also do have an asthma which recently is uncontrolled and I am very much dependent on nebulization. Can this be also a factor as to why I do have this mitral regurgitation and dilated LV? Thanks so much

Hello,

The left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), can be under symptomatic control with medications, lifestyle modifications, it can not be reversed, to normal. Uncontrolled respiratory problems do contribute to mitral regurgitation from back pressure changes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
