Can Leaving Tampon For Long Cause Vaginal Blisters? Hurting While Urinating. Possible Reasons?

Can leaving a tampon in too long cause painful vaginal blisters? I just returned home from a four day trip. The day I flew out I left a tampon in for about 12 hours and I barely had my period. The next day I noticed blisters which have since gotten worse. It hurts too touch them and to pee. I googled it and of course all that is coming up it HPV but I really don't think it is that. I have been in a monogamous relationship for almost a year. I'm 24 and have never had anything like this before. I am wondering is it possible it is from the tampon or stress/sleep/diet related. I started taking an antibiotic that one of the girls on the trip gave me because I assumed it was just a bladder infection but now I'm wondering if it was something else.

Yes, a forgotten tampon can definitely cause vaginal blisters.
HPV would not cause blisters as such, but wart like growths.
It could also be a vaginal infection, that could be worsened by antibiotics which deplete the normal vaginal flora.
Please have a gynecologist look at it, as it could be blisters due to STD such as herpes too.
Only take medication after the evaluation.
