Can Lack Of Oxygen During Sleep Cause Loss Of Consciousness?

My 20 yr old daughter was taken to the hospital by her 25 yr old boyfriend late at night. She was admitted to the ER 95% unresponsive. She has gradually gain total awareness but has extreme fatigue. She needs assistance going to the restroom and is totally exhausted by the ordeal. CT scans RMIs, blood work drug tests and other tests all came back negative. The belief is that it is was caused by anxiety. Is it possible that a lack of oxygen during sleep, such as caused by apnea, cause this condition?

The most likely reason for this is anxiety..
She must have hyperventilated..causing washout of carbon dioxide..
Carbon dioxide pressure in blood plays important role in stimulating the respiratory centres..(high Co2 stimulate, low Co2 inhibits)
