Can Knots In Chest Cause Cardiac Issues?

For the last 2 weeks or more I have been feeling a knot in my chest. When I eat a meal, I am hungary, but the so-called knot is hard to swollow past. Even when I drink a liquid hot or cold it is the same feeling. I have tried taking pepto bismol, gas x and tums but to no avail. There is a mild concern, since I do have some cardiac issues in my family hx.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Knot like feeling in chest while eating and drinking is more suggestive of esophageal obstructive lesion. I don't think it is associated with cardiac diseases.
So better to consult gastroenterologist and get done upper GI (gastrointestinal) scopy and CT thorax to identify esophageal obstructive lesion.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
