Can Itchy Rash Be Allergic Reaction To Angioplasty And Medicine?
My wife had angio[plasty and no stent was put in. Blockage less than %0%. When we arrived home, she had ad an itchy rash on her back. Is this just an allergic reaction to the medication. Other than the rash, she feels fine. It is after 10 PM. Do I take her to the ER or just call the doctor in the morning.
Your wife seems to have developed an allergic skin rash. Now such a skin rash after any kind of surgery can develop due to any pain killers or antibiotics that have been given to the patient. Even application of agents like spirit or betadine which are normally used for cleaning the skin can cause such an allergy. You simply need to give her some oral antihistamine agent so as to bring down the allergic reaction. However if the allergy tends to increase or persist, then you will have to see your treating doctor.
Hope it helps
