hi i think I have iron deficiency or anemia . 1.what do you call for a doctor who specializes in blood? 2. if i take blood test , how can you tell between just lack of iron or thalassemia ? 3. recently i m taking iron supplement 65mg. 2 tablets per day. I notice I m having acne breakout like crazy. is it because of the amount of iron that i ve been taking ? thanks so much

2,It is called blood test for Hb.estimination and type of anemia.
3,there is no allergy of iron of this type,after taking iron one gets black color stool.

i have been using iron supplement i.e fefol for 3 months now. for the past two weeks i faced intense acne break out on my face. is it possible that my acne is due to iron supplements? nothing in my diet has changed so it cant be becaus eof my diet or sleep pattern.

my brother just called and said my infant nephew(11 months) may have a disease involving the RBC'c. He said the RBC's are abnormally rounded and clot easily. My nephew has been on iron supplementation for about 1-2 months and his iron levels have come up, his hemoglobin in OK but the RBC count is very low still. Any ideas?

I have been suffering from exhaustion, feeling weak for over a year with episodes when I suddenly feel so weak I can barely stand up. I've also constantly been ill from infections, colds, sickness bugs etc. All doctors can find is my ferritin level is 22 but my iron level is fine. Could the ferritin level be the cause of the exhaustion, weakness and poor immune system? I'm a 36 yr old female
