Hello, I am a 57 year old female (5' 5" and 145 lbs) who was anemic up until menopause which was two years ago. At that time I was given IV treatment for iron deficiency (I am not able to tolerate oral supplements) and 1 year ago it was within normal range but on the low side. However this past month I have been again feeling very tired and developed eye floaters for no apparent reason. I have a stressful job. Should I check the iron again? Oh I also have a pericardial cyst (6cm x 6.5cm) but no symptoms so far. I am otherwise very healthy.
Floaters and iron deficiency are not related. Get your hemogram repeated and if required take iron supliment as well iron rich vegetable fruits. For floaters fundus examination can be done to rule out retinal involvement.
