Can Intake Of BP Medications For Long Term Cause Allergic Reactions?

I have been surrering from an allergy that started suddenly approx. 2 weeks ago. I have been to the doctor and ER many times these past 2 weeks. I am on predisone, previcid, and clairtin. I was told that it probably is something internal such as food or medicine. I have stopped all of OTC meds and only take my BP meds which are BENICAR and TOPROL XL. Last night while I was in the ER, for this crazy itching I am having, one nurse suggested that it could be my BP meds. So this morning I did not take them. I don t feel as bad but I still have itching. Could I posssibly be allergic to Benicar after taking it for so many years. THanks

hello. there are skin tests to fing out the allergen. it is better that you discuss it with your GP. because it is better you go through that test if we cant find the allergen from your history. if you were having your antihypertensives for a longer period than 2wks it is unlikely to b the culprit. you have to tell about your cosmatics, recent diet changes, cloth material changes also. thank you
