Hi,
Yes, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as
Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or
naproxen causing diminished kidney function.
Chronic kidney disease is divided into five stages of increasing severity:
Stage I: Slight damage to the kidney(s) damage.
Stage II: Mild decrease in kidney function.
Stage III: Moderate decrease in kidney function.
Stage 4: Severe decrease in kidney function.
Stage 5: Kidney failure, Lifestyle changes such as losing weight, exercising, meditating, eating less salt.
Keeping yourself hydrated and drinking less alcohol can help lower your blood pressure and kidney damage.
Smoking is a risk factor for faster progression of kidney disease, so stopping smoking can also help slow progression.
Renal function will recover in most patients after withdrawal of NSAID. Steroids may aid recovery in patients with
interstitial nephritis who do not improve after stopping NSAID therapy.
Normal
creatinine levels are from 1 to 1.5 mg per deciliter and GFR more than 90 mL/min/1.73 m2 is normal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
