Can Implantation Bleeding Be Heavy?

I removed my nuva ring for intercourse and forgot to put it back in for about a week. I started what I thought was my period about 3 days later. It lasted 3 days. But I felt off. The last day of my period was Tuesday. I had what looked like implantation bleeding yesterday. Had my birth control not been messed up, I would have been due for my next period between this Monday and Wednesday. Could it have on fact been implantation bleeding?

Thank you for your question and I will try to help.

Implantation bleeding is bleeding that occurs as a new pregnancy invades the wall of the uterus an begins to establish blood supply. This is very common and usually occurs at about the time of the missed period or slightly later. It is also a point at which a pregnancy test will definitely be positive. The typical report is a shorter and lighter 'period like' bleeding that then stops. Although, this bleeding can be variable and heavy enough to be confused for a normal period.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
