Can I Take Two Amoxicillin, Ibuprofen And Vicodin Alternately?

I had a root canal retreated and was prescribed amoxicillin and vicodin to help with the pain afterward (it got infected badly). I have been taking two amoxicillin at a time thinking that is what I am suppose to do, but I was only suppose to take two to kick start it and then one every eight hours. I did that for two days. I was alternating taking vicodin, ibuprofen and the amoxicillin. Is that okay? I am worried.

Hi,

There is no need to worry, these medications will not produce any harm. But, afterwards, stick to the prescription you had.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
