Can i get heart disease from my mom? I have vasomotor instability disorder

My mom is on medicine for her extremely fast heart rate , it has an average rate of 99 and got up to 165 while she was sleeping. There are many times throughout the day that she can feel her heart beating rapidly in her chest . When I play with my grandma s blood pressure machine my heart rate is never under 90, even when I ve been sitting down for an hour. I can feel my heart in my chest beating rapidly. I also have vasomotor instability disorder, which means I get dizzy a lot from changing positions, for example sitting down to standing up, because gravity naturally pulls everyone s blood down, and my body doesn t push it back up most of the time. Is this just the same problem my mom has? They told her that her heart rate wasn t something to be worried about, it was just scary for her to feel her heart so fast I m 15, and heart problems run in my family. I eat healthy, exercise, and have been a vegetarian for 2 years.

Most of the characteristics we have are the inherited ones from our ancestors with genes, so you might have some problems similar to your parents. At your age, the situation you described look totally healthy as pulse rate of 90/min is in normal range. Probably you have been under control by your doctor because of your vasomotor instability disorder but getting dizzy in changing postures at your age is also totally normal. Do not worry about anything but have your health check-ups done routinely.

She had been prescribed...100 mg/zoloft, 25 mg/elavil, and 150 mg/twice daily/Bupropion. Something just doesnt seem right to me with all that. There are other issues that I have with her medication right now, but hey...Im no DR.

Yes, how are you? I get skipped beats once in a while. Mostly one skipped beat, rarely skipped beats in a row. It usually happens when i am stressed, which means when i am talking to people or on the computer. I usually do not get runs or tachycardia just skipped beats or thumps. This has been going on for 13 years, though they are less than before. They usually feel less impactful and happen less when i exercise.... could this mean i am out of shape... could this be dangerous? I already had holters and EKGs, this did not find. Still worried though.....

I am a 28 year old female with a number of autoimmune disorders - fibromyalgia the most recently diagnosed. I am currently on Lexapro, Zegrid OTC, Flexeril, Singulair, proventil inhaler, claritin, 25mcg synthroid, and I also take vit b complex, c, and d daily as well as a kids multivite. My question is that in the past several months, I have been unable to achieve orgasm without great difficulty (by myself even - and I used to be able to do that incredibly quickly without any problems. When I do orgasm, my legs and arms go numb and very painful, and my heart beats out of my chest, and I feel like I can t breathe. I had an EKG in november that was normal, but I have had several incidences of tachycardia including when I was woken up from general anesthesia after ovarian surgery. Could this be a heart problem even with a normal EKG?
