Can I Conceive Again After Having An Ectopic Pregnancy?

Hi,

I am writing this to have a clarification on few things related to Ectopic Pregnancy.

I'm 23yrs old and had 1st tubal pregnancy in Dec 2009 and undergone laproscope surgery, where my left fallopian tube was ruptured and it was removed totally. It was unexpected pregnancy.I was surprised how could I conceive thought we have taken precautions(Condoms and birth control pills), It was with my Boyfriend. Due to some reasons I got aparted from my boyfriend after 2months of my surgery.

Now my problem is that my parents only know this and rest of my friends and relatives know that some cyst in fallopian tube. They told like that to everyone as per doctors advice as I was unmarried. Now they are looking out for groom and to marry me within a year. I am afraid that if the person with whom I'm going to get married will come to know this.

Please clarify me the below doubts

* Is there any chance that other doctors can know my case after diagnosing me when I conceive after marriage.
* Can I use bithcontrol pills or opt any birth control measure(like copper-t), though I take them will it work in my case
* How much chances are there for me, to get conceive after marriage
* What is the best method to opt for birth control for my case

Kindly clarify me the above and make me free out of all negative thoughts. I'm really confused and depressed with all these.
I not even in a position to take a decision reg my marriage. Please do the needful.

Thanking you in advance.

Hi,
Thanks for the query .I understand your concern.
Please find the answers you want as below-
1. -As per your information-your left fallopian tube was totally removed following it's rupture due to ectopic pregnancy....Even if some doctor gets yiur usg done after marraige.. he will find only right tube present. Left tube would be abscent .The story of removal due to some tubal cyst/swelling /tumor can be continued if asked for...
2. Birth control devise ... preferably oral pills can be used. Any devise will work normally for you.
3.You have 50% chances for conception... some time or other mature ovum will enter right tube &unprotected sex around ovulation will give you equal chance of conception
4.I feel best method for you would be oral pills (avoiding IUD .. would prevent any infection.. thus helping right tube to be healthy)
-For permanent contraception... tubectomy can be done (with due information to the surgeon about single sided-right-tube being there.
Thanks.
