Can History Of Nissan Fundoplication Cause Dizziness And Chest Pain?

my son had a nissan fundoplication done when he was 2 weeks old. he is now 18 yrs. old . Tonight he said he couldn t breathe and was really dizzy with chest pains. just got back from the ER and they gave him a GI . cocktail, could this be a problem with the nissan fundoplication after all theese years?

I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, chances of these symptoms due to past Nissan fundoplication are very less.
But better to get done upper GI (gastrointestinal) scopy to rule out this possibility.
If this is normal then no need to worry much.
Sometimes stress and anxiety can also cause similar kind of symptoms.
So better to take him to psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions.
Try to identify stressor in his life and start working on it's solution.
He may need anxiolytic drugs too.
Don't worry, he will be alright.
Previous surgery (Nissan fundoplication) is unlikely to acute these sudden symptoms after 18 years.
