Can History Of Meth Usage Cause Heat Intolerance, Excessive Sweating And Dizziness?

Hi, I'm a former Meth user, started at 27 stopped at 34 with about 2 years heavy use I/v.. I'm 38 now, and have a massive heat intolerance, I need a fan blowing on my head almost all the time now, when I exert any physical exertion I get very very light headed to the ppoint I'm close to fainting.. I also have hemochromatosis and asthma.. my Dr does not know of my prior use and I can't tell him because he (reluctantly) prescribes me a very legitamately needed 60 norco a month for arthritic pain caused from hemochromatosis (I do not abuse or ever run out early, they help too much to risk losing the privilege) it used to take me at least 2 hours getting out of bed to be pain tolerable, now I wake up and fifteen min later can function normally, I'm afraid if i tell him of prior abuse, it will give him false reason to think I would or do abuse them, anyhow my doc thinks I have a thyroid problem, I did have an elevwted first test but every one thereafter has been normal.. I can't hardy do anything exerting, its become completely crippling.. my question is there any correlation to the symptoms ( heat intolerance, hot flushed skin, and light headedness, and profuse, very very profuse sweating ) and prior use? And am I gonna have to tell my doc?

Hello, and thanks for your question.

Yes, methamphetamine usage activates the epinephrine elements of the nervous system, causing sweating, dizziness, heat intolerance, rapid heartbeat, and the like. You need to disclose this history to your doctor for your own safety.
