Can High Blood Pressure Cause Vertigo In The Elderly?

I am a 62 yr old overweight male who s blood pressure has been around 153/96 for the last couple of days. I am on the medication Amlodipine Besylate 5mg. I have been experiencing a constant ringing in the ears for 2 months now. Can that be related to blood pressure?

Hello,

Yes, elevated blood pressure may cause vertigo and headache seen in a hypertensive emergency. But your blood pressure 150/90 probably won't cause vertigo. Check for ear, nose problems and cardiac, neurological problems for vertigo. Please consult your ENT specialist or neurologist they will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
