Can High Anxiety Levels Cause Chest And Jaw Pain?

My wife, aged 51 had high BP taking amplodepine 2.5 and metoprolol 5, and later developed symptoms of chest and jaw pain. Angiography and echo cardiogram showed no blockages and no major problems. However, BP was very labile at times. Metoprolol was changed to nebivolol 5 mg. In addition catecholamine tests were carried out. Serum catecholamine tests came out witin normal range. Urine adrenaline in normal range but nor-adrenaline is 120 and indicated as high. What are the likely causes? She does have high anxiety levels.

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. High anxiety levels and health related obsession can certainly cause chest, shoulder, neck and jaw pain. Your wife did undergo many tests to determine the physical angle to it. all came negative. In that case, the only probability remains as anxiety and obsession. In my opinion you should consult a psychologist for psychotherapy which prepares her to manage her anxiety.
